(Tulsa-AP) -- A proposed Tulsa charter school has just one more hurdle to clear to become Tulsa's first charter school.
The school board committee's recommendation goes to the Tulsa school board today.
Doug Dodd is chairman of the board's charter school committee. Dodd says the Deborah Brown Community School met the requirements of a 1999 Oklahoma law for starting a charter school and should be approved.
And he says the Dove Science Academy could be approved if an amended three-year financial plan is agreed upon.
The Deborah Brown application says the school would start with kindergarten through second-grade students, but could add a grade each year.
