(Augusta, Georgia -AP) -- Winds pushed up the score of top-ranked amateur golfer Hunter Haas up to 80 at the first round of the Masters.
The former Oklahoma All-American says dealing with swirling winds, slick greens and difficult pin positions of Augusta National made for a frustrating day.
Haas says the par-three sixth hammered him the worst. He got a double-bogey on that hole.
But Haas says he feels a sense of relief that the anxiety of playing in the opening round of his first major championship was finally behind him.
Haas says he thinks he can still make the cut. But he says he probably needs to shoot three or four-under to do it.
