NORMAN, Okla. (AP) -- Oklahoma forward Eduardo Najera has been named the winner of the fourth annual Chip Hilton Award.

The award is given to a player who has demonstrated personal character on and off the court.

Najera recently ended his career as OU's eighth all-time leading scorer and fifth all-time leading rebounder. He led the Sooners to
a 27-7 record this season and was named to the All-Big 12 team.

Other finalists for the award were Shane Battier of Duke, Mark Madsen of Stanford, Troy Murphy of Notre Dame and Scoonie Penn of
Penn State.

Najera is scheduled to receive the award Monday in Indianapolis.
