(Washington-AP) -- Thousands of working senior citizens can look forward to a nice check from the government later this spring.

Officials say about 415-thousand working seniors will get Social Security refunds averaging 35-hundred dollars once a bill lifting
the Social Security earnings limit becomes law.

The legislation is scheduled for final passage in the Republican-led House on Tuesday. It will repeal a Depression-era law that reduced Social Security benefits for beneficiaries between the ages of 65 and 69 who earned more than 17-thousand-dollars.

The repeal is retroactive to January.
