(Austin-AP) -- Former linebacker Thomas "Hollywood" Henderson gets to keep ten million dollars of the 28 million dollar winning prize in the Texas lottery.
Henderson says he's choosing the cash option. As a result, he gets 50 percent of the jackpot.
The Internal Revenue Service will take 28 percent of the 14 million dollars Henderson gets, leaving him with about ten million dollars.
Henderson played in three Super Bowls for the Dallas Cowboys in the 1970s after playing college football at Langton.
He tells K-D-F-W T-V in Dallas that he thinks he's been sober or 16 years and is better equipped to handle fame and fortune today than he was during his playing career.
