PORTER, Okla. (AP) -- A man who allegedly robbed the First State Bank of Porter of about $10,000 was arrested a short time later by Haskell police waiting for the getaway car alongside Oklahoma 104.

"We just pulled up behind them and they just pulled over to the side of the road," police Chief Kermit Thomas said. He said Lawrence Greer, 20, of Boynton resisted arrest and ran a short distance before officers could handcuff him.

FBI spokesman Gary Johnson said Greer is accused of the Thursday morning robbery of the bank. The robber told a teller shortly after the bank opened that he wanted money. He pulled up his shirt to show he had a pistol.

Witnesses said the man grabbed currency in both hands and ran outside to a car.

Johnson said a teen-age girl was in the car with Greer, but it didn't appear that she was involved in the robbery.

All of the cash was recovered.
