(Ada-AP) -- The Chickasaw Nation is borrowing a tactic from corporations shopping for new locations.

Chickasaw Governor Bill Anaotubby and tribal leaders have accepted bids from five Oklahoma towns interested in becoming the home of the Chickasaw Nation Capitol.

Ada, Ardmore, Davis, Sulphur and Tishomingo are competing to be the Capitol. The stakes include relocation of at least 200 governmental employees and potential for about 25 to 75 other local jobs.

Towns have until April Third to submit final proposals. Anaotubby says he wants the new Capitol to make a statement. The Chickasaw Nation moved its historic Capitol in 1971 from Tishomingo to Ada.

The tribe employs 1,800 tribal members with offices throughout south-central Oklahoma.
