(Minneapolis-AP) -- Creighton nearly pulled off an upset before falling to seventh-seed Auburn 72-to-69 in the Midwest Regional at Minneapolis.
The Blue Jays trailed by nine points with 12.7 seconds left. But two three-pointers combined with two stunning Auburn turnovers on inbound plays left Creighton down by three, with the ball, with three-point-eight seconds left.
Ben Walker took the final three-point shot, but Auburn's seven-foot senior center, Mamadou N'Diaye, saved the game by blocking the shot. The Tigers move into the second round to face either Iowa State or Central Connecticut State.
