(Bloomington, Indiana-AP) -- Indiana coach Bob Knight says he might have grabbed former player Neil Reed around the neck but
doesn't recall choking him.

Reed, who transferred out of the program in 1997, told C-N-N-S-I that Knight choked him during practice three years ago.

The report aired last night.

Knight told Indianapolis t-v station W-T-H-R -- quote "maybe I grabbed Neil Reed by the shoulder, maybe I took him by the back of
the neck, I don't know. I don't remember everything I've done in practice." Knight goes on to say he's used a lot of different things for motivational purposes and that they're not learning to play bridge, they're learning to play basketball.

Knight also says Reed was an underachiever who was unanimously voted off the team by his teammates.

Reed had also said Knight once ordered the university's president out of a basketball practice. Knight calls that claim the most absurd comment of all.
