Williams is adding more than 5,000 jobs to their Tulsa operations over the next few years. Most of the new positions will be within the company's communications division.

Business is booming at Williams, especially in the area of communications. The company is on the verge of becoming a global network provider.

The company's stock has risen dramatically and Williams overall revenue has grown at the tremendous rate of 20 per cent.

Most of the jobs to be filled are skilled positions in the areas of marketing, sales and engineering.

Williams is adding the new jobs in partnership with the Oklahoma Quality Jobs Program, which means a big tax break for the company.

"We get a tax break of about $100 million over the next ten years," said Gordon Martin, president of Carrier Services. "So while our growth is great for the community, what's nice to Williams is what we enjoy as a tax break."

Williams is also expanding their physical operations. They're building a fifteen story technology center in downtown Tulsa that will house more than 3,500 employees.

Williams says recruiting prospective employees for the new positions is currently underway.
