(Undated-AP) -- The attorney for a class of inmates suing the Oklahoma Department of Corrections may be on his way out.
Former inmate Bobby Battle says he's prepared to fire Tulsa lawyer Louis Bullock. Paperwork has been filed in federal court seeking the change. Battle says members of the class have urged him to look for a new lawyer because they say Bullock didn't consult with them much but dealt almost exclusively with prison officials.
Battle says inmates were especially upset about a proposed settlement in which inmates say they had no input. Bullock has represented the inmates for 20 years in an ongoing federal lawsuit known as Battle versus Anderson.
Bullock has NOT commented on the move to remove him as attorney. Battle filed a lawsuit over 20 years ago. More than a thousand inmate objections were filed in protest of a settlement, which a federal judge recently tossed out.
