(Duncan-AP) -- Ben Hill wants to be Duncan's new mayor. The fact that he's 83-years-old apparently isn't stopping him. Hill ran for city council and won in 1985 but now says he's ready for a larger challenge.

But Hill faces competition from acting mayor Dennis Johnson and city councilman Leo King, both of whom are said to be well-liked in the community. Johnson became the town's mayor October Sixth after Mayor Harold Howard died after a heart attack.

But the elderly Hill is undaunted in his bid for the mayor's post. The election is March 21st, six days after his 84th birthday. Hill reports to his tire garage on work days at 8 a-m and clocks out about 5 p-m. Hill says he has even outlasted his telephone, which no longer works. He also brings his lunch everyday.
