WALNUT CREEK, Calif. (AP) -- Three Pacific-10 basketball players were reprimanded Monday for their part in a fight Saturday night after the Southern California-Arizona State game. Arizona State's Awvee Storey and Tanner Shell and Southern Cal's Jeff Trepagnier were admonished by conference officials for the incident during the post game handshake. They were each placed on conference probation until the end of the season.
Following the Sun Devils' 93-81 home victory, Trepagnier knocked Storey down. The league said it was unable to "establish beyond a doubt who initiated the matter." Players from both teams began shoving and kicking each other as fans gathered on the floor. The bad blood between the two teams began Friday night, when a gymnastics meet in Wells Fargo Arena in Tempe forced both teams to practice in the Student Recreation Center. Arizona State officials complained that their players had to wait 40 minutes for their shoot around because the Trojans refused to leave the floor.
