(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Governor Keating is kicking off a campaign to get athletics practices moved to after school. He has backing from educators, but it could be a hard sell with parents and coaches.
Muskogee Superintendent Eldon Gleichman his community talked about moving the sports practices. But the community didn't like the idea, and people filled up the school board room to protest before there was even a proposal.
The state Coaches Association says they hope the rest of the state agrees with people in Muskogee. The bill would require schools to offer six hours of academic and vocational classes each day. Education secretary Floyd Coppedge says there's plenty of time left in the day after two o-clock.
