Reed quits as Philharmonic director

(Tulsa-AP) -- The executive director of the Tulsa Philharmonicis leaving at the end of the month. Robert Reed announced yesterday that he was quitting to pursue other opportunities in the orchestra field.

Reed has been with the Tulsa Philharmonic for two years and said he believed he had accomplished a number of things he had wanted to at Tulsa. The Philharmonic board has hired Thomas Gerdom of Arts Consulting Group in Los Angeles to serve as interim executive director. He has worked with the San Diego Symphony and the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra and has more than 25 years' experience as a chief executive of performing arts and educational organizations.
