(Undated-AP) -- A Dallas-area Cowboys fan has begun a petition campaign on the Internet to rename Texas Stadium for Tom Landry. The legendary former Cowboys coach died Saturday of complications from leukemia. He was 75, and was buried yesterday in a private graveside ceremony in Dallas.

James Whiddon describes himself as a native Texan and lifelong fan of the Cowboys and Landry, who coached the team from 1960 through 1989. He says he's set up a Web site so Internet users can sign a petition to rename the Cowboys' home stadium Landry Stadium. He says he plan to send the results to Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and city officials in Irving, which owns Texas Stadium. Click here to go to http://www.landrystadium.com
