TULSA, Okla. (AP) -- A dentist whose license was revoked after he was accused of molesting a sedated patient can continue his practice under stays issued by a judge. Hassan Bijan Abdi can practice without using mind-altering drugs, pending a decision on his appeal of the revokation, said Linda Campbell, executive director of the Oklahoma Board of Dentistry.
The board voted last month to revoke Abdi's license because of a pending sexual battery charge. The charge alleges he inappropriately touched a female patient who was under the influence of nitrous oxide. While the appeal is pending, Abdi cannot use or store mind-altering drugs, including nitrous oxide, and an observer must be present while he is treating female patients, Campbell said.
