HOUSTON (AP) -- Stephen Woods had 18 points, including four 3-pointers, to lead SMU to a 65-50 victory over Rice Monday night. Woods made 6 of 15 from the field and 4 of 10 from 3-point range, and led the team in assists with four. No other player for SMU (17-5, 5-3 WAC) scored in double digits, but Willie Davis was the team's top rebounder with 11. Three players for Rice (4-16, 0-8) scored in double digits, but it wasn't a stellar shooting game for either team. SMU led 31-24 at halftime, and shot just 38 percent from the field, compared to Rice's 35 percent. The Owls' Alex Bougaieff led all players with 19 points and 16 rebounds. Jay Christian added 11 points, including three 3-pointers, and T.J. McKenzie had 10.
