(Dallas-AP) -- Oklahoma forward Phylesha Whaley has been named the Big 12 Conference Basketball Player of the Week. The senior averaged 23 points and six-point-five rebounds in wins over Baylor and Nebraska last week. She shot 65.5 per cent from the field, including 60 per cent from behind the 3-point line.
The Sooners are ranked 17th in the latest poll by The Associated Press. The league's Rookie of the Week was Missouri's Amanda Lassiter. She had 30 points in a win over Oklahoma State.
