(AP) -- Eric Perry made a 3-pointer with 14 seconds remaining -- his ninth of the game -- to give Oral Roberts a 73-72 victory over Chicago State on Thursday night. Perry scored a career-high 33 points, going 9-of-10 from 3-point range and 11-of-13 overall. Before Perry sealed the victory, ORU (9-11, 5-3 Mid-Continent Conference) Terrance West made two free throws with 29 seconds remaining to give the Cougars (9-11, 6-4) a 72-70 lead. Oral Roberts led the entire first half before the Cougars went on an 11-0 run to start the second half and take a 37-36 lead with 17:45 remaining. Five minutes later, ORU came back and tied the game at 47-47. The lead switched 10 times before it was 70-70 with 1:03 left in the game, setting up West's free throws and Perry's game-winner. Derrick Taylor had 12 points and a career-high 14 rebounds for ORU. Darrell Johns led the Cougars with 17 points. Jermaine Hicks and Tony Jones added 15 each, and Tim Bryant had 14. Chicago State shot 44 percent from the field, while the Eagles shot only 40 percent. The Cougars had 11 blocked shots.
