(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Kerr-McGee Corporation is announcing an oil discovery and two successful appraisal wells in the North Sea. The discoveries were made about 15 miles north of the company's operations at Gryphon field. Reserves at the discovery site are estimated to be in the range of 70 million to 100 million barrels of oil equivalent. Kerr-McGee is an energy and chemical company based in Oklahoma City.
