(Oklahoma City-AP) -- With winter weather headed our way, authorities say drivers should take precautions on icy highways and watch out for road clearing equipment.

The Department of Public Safety says drivers should keep at least 100 feet between their vehicles and road clearing equipment.

Drivers should not pass road clearing equipment.

Drivers should also wait for crews to complete road clearing before approaching bridges and overpasses.

Drivers should also check road conditions before they travel.
