An Oklahoma man facing murder charges in three states has been bound over to a grand jury in Tennessee. Steven Ray Thacker of Chouteau, Oklahoma, is charged in the death of Dyersburg service station owner Ray Patterson.
Dyersburg City Judge Lyman Ingram Tuesday sent the case against him to a Dyer County grand jury set to begin meeting on February 14th. Ingram kept Thacker's bond at $5-million. He is charged with first degree murder and especially aggravated robbery.
Police say Patterson was stabbed to death after he was called to help a motorist believed to be Thacker, whose car was stalled. The judge thanked about 15 of Patterson's friends and relatives for not causing a courtroom disturbance.
A murder charge is pending against Thacker in Oklahoma for the death of Laci Dawn Hill, and there's another in Missouri for the killing of Forrest Reed Boyd.
