(Richmond, Texas-AP) -- An inmate who escaped from a Texas prison has been captured this morning in McAlester on a Greyhound bus. Authorities say Ed Martinez escaped yesterday from the Jester One Unit at Richmond, Texas, near Houston.

Authorities say several teams of tracking dogs and personnel were involved in a manhunt for Martinez after inmates spotted him scaling a perimeter wall at the prison at about 6:30 a-m. Officials say others may be charged for assisting Martinez in his escape. Martinez could face up to 15 years for his escape.

Martinez is serving nine to 12 months at Jester One, which is a minimum-security, substance abuse treatment facility for felony probationers. Authorities say Martinez was sentenced in October on a felony charge of forgery. Authorities say he also has been indicted on forgery and burglary charges.
