Detectives in Claremore are investigating the apparent homicide of an elderly woman.

A relative found the 88-year-old woman's body in her residence in an older, quiet area of this Rogers County community.

Claremore Police Chief Mickey Perry says detectives believe the woman's death was the result of foul play and that she may have been the victim of a robber or robbers.

Perry says detectives have found no witnesses and have no suspects in mind.

The victim's name is being withheld as several family members still have not been notified.
