(Norman-AP) -- Doris Eaton Travis hasn't hung up her dancing shoes. The 95-year-old Oklahoman is a former Ziegfeld Follies performer who has a role in the new movie "Man on the Moon," which opens Wednesday.

Travis appears as character Eleanor Gould. Jim Carrey stars as the late comedian Andy Kaufman. Travis says her experience in the film was like a show business rebirth for her. She participated in the Ziegfeld Follies musical revue from 1918 to 1920. Seventy years ago, she appeared with Frank Craven in the film entitled "The Very Idea."

In the "Man on the Moon", Travis says she appears during a scene depicting Kaufman's 1979 performance at Carnegie Hall. In the film, she says a clip of an old film featuring dancing girls is shown. Her character is supposed to be a living person who participated in the clip.
