(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Wrangling over the tobacco funds has begun in earnest.
Oklahoma received the first payment of more than 25 (m) million dollars as the first installment of a settlement that will provide an estimated two-point-three (b) billion dollars to the state over the next 25 years.
Oklahoma Attorney General Drew Edmondson says the payment includes more than 715-thousand dollars in interest earned since the state's first scheduled payment of about 24-point-eight (m) million dollars was placed in escrow more than a year ago.
Edmondson says the state will receive approximately 65 (m) million dollars more by April 15th. Oklahoma received more than two (b) billion dollars plus an additional 268 (m) million dollars.
