(Oklahoma City-AP) -- The Oklahoma Department of Commerce is trying to develop trade inroads into Mexico. International Division Director Kevin Chambers say the department is trying to help Oklahoma companies get work on large infrastructure projects such as building roads, pipelines, airports and railroads.

Chambers says there are plenty of opportunities in Mexico for Oklahoma companies. He says his office is developing relationships with Mexican officials in hopes helping Oklahoma companies gain a competitive advantage over companies from other states doing business south of the border. Chambers says government ministries control the large projects, making contact with them pay off for Oklahoma companies.
