The Payne County district attorney will not file charges in a rape investigation involving a female O-S-U student. Stillwater police presented their report to the D-A’s office late Monday. The D-A’s office said late Tuesday there was not enough evidence to support any charges in the case.

The district attorney did not talk with the media. He only released a statement saying that he will not file charges. The statement says that the 22-year-old victim told Stillwater police that ‘I don't feel like I remember enough information prior to the sexual relations to accurately accuse anyone.’ The release also says that many of the witnesses' statements contain inconsistencies that we (the D-A's office) would be unable to overcome in prosecuting a case."

Police began investigating the report of a rape in the early morning hours of November 21st. Police say the victim said she was at a party at a house near the O-S-U campus where two Cowboy football players live. She reportedly said two or three men raped her.

The next day, four O-S-U football players were suspended for violating team policy. No one will say what they did or if they were suspects in the case. Police say they understand the district attorney's decision.
