Randy Foutch has been elected the fourth chairman of the Oklahoma Energy Resources Board.
Foutch is president of Lariat Petroleum in Tulsa. He was elected to a two-year term and succeeds Henry "Boots" Taliaferro.
James Bass was elected to a two-year term as the board's secretary. Bass is vice president of exploration and production for Apache Corporation in Tulsa. Vice chairman Jim Palm and treasurer Eric Koelling were re-elected.
The Oklahoma Energy Resources Board was created in 1993 by the Oklahoma Legislature and is funded through a voluntary assessment on oil and natural gas producers and royalty owners.
It conducts environmental restoration of abandoned well sites and educates Oklahomans about the importance of the petroleum industry.
