In August, the labor force stood at 314,550 in the County, 437,350 in the MSA, 1.7 million statewide, and 140 million nationwide. Growth of the Tulsa area labor force continues to outpace growth nationwide. The average labor force during the first eight months of the year was 306,085 in Tulsa County (up 4 percent from the same period last year), 426,100 in the MSA (up 3.9 percent), 1.7 million statewide (up 2.1 percent), and 139.1 million nationwide (up 1.4 percent). In-migration, both from within the state and from other parts of the nation, provides a steady stream of workers.
