Several cases of the flu have already been
seen in Oklahoma. The state is off to an early start to the flu season with cases reported in a nursing home in Ottawa County. A travel-related case of Influenza A has been reported in Oklahoma County.
Authorities say the best time to receive a flu shot typically is mid-October. State Health Department officials say people at high risk may want to get the shot earlier because of the earlier flu activity.
Flu cases in Oklahoma generally peak in late January to early February.
