(Tulsa-AP) -- Former Tulsa University basketball player Shea Seals is on his way to France in an effort to jumpstart his career.
Seals signed a one-year contract Wednesday to play for one of the top two squads in that country.
Seals is the leading scorer in T-U basketball history. But he's been trying to overcome a series of setbacks since being ignored in the 1997 N-B-A draft.
Seals had a free agent contract with the Los Angeles Lakers and was kept on the roster for a season. But he had to sit out last season after injuring a knee and undergoing reconstructive surgery.
His agent said Seals had arranged to play with the New York Knicks during 1999 summer league competition but pulled a quad muscle before leaving.
