The Bixby Police Department is using a new program to let folks know when a registered sex offender moves into their neighborhood.
They're working with a national organization called "A Child is Missing" to call everyone nearby.
The department used it for the first time last week when a registered sex offender moved into a Bixby neighborhood. Police say everyone within a mile radius should have gotten a call. But the News on 6 talked to 7 people in the neighborhood closest to the offender and none of them got calls.
Bixby resident Mary Marshall: "I was a little upset to find out they had called other neighborhoods and not ours since he moved into ours."
The News on 6 told the Bixby Police what we found out and they're checking to make sure the right people get the calls.
