Investigators are also looking for the person who killed a bald eagle released into the wild 15 years ago by Bartlesville's Sutton Avian Research Center.
The bird was found near Lake Eufaula, and was one of two taken to a wildlife rehab center in Noble this week. It died Thursday after surgery.
Rondi Large with the Wildcare Foundation: "my oldest son is in Iraq, so this is the one thing I can do is save the eagles when he's working for freedom in other countries, but this isn't one that I could save.â€
The other eagle arrived from the Tecumseh area with a "suspicious puncture wound." That bird is recovering.
