The effort to recall two Tulsa city councilors is on hold for the moment. The vote won't happen at what was the earliest possible date in May.
The Tulsa city council met Tuesday afternoon to officially set the date, but two councilors who oppose the recall didn't show up. That left the city council without a quorum. Plenty of recall opponents did show up to the meeting at city hall. More than a hundred supporters of Councilors Jim Mautino and Chris Medlock were at the meeting to protest.
The city charter requires councilors to set a recall election at the earliest date possible, but only once they agree the recall petition is valid. They have not voted on that issue yet.
