OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- A freshman Republican says all elected offices should have term limits.

Oklahoma City Representative Trebor Worthen has filed a bill that would limit some state offices to two successive terms. Those offices include lieutenant governor, the state schools superintendent, insurance commissioner, treasurer, attorney general and the corporation commissioners.

Right now, corporation commissioners serve 6-year terms. Other state officials are limited to 4-year terms.

Democrat Frank Shurden has introduced a similar measure in the state Senate. His measure originally only targeted the lieutenant governor's office. Amendments made last month include all state elected offices.

Treasurer Robert Butkin, who is in his third term says voters enforce the terms by deciding whether to vote someone in again.
