Broken Arrow city leaders will literally burn an ordinance Thursday afternoon that created an additional sales tax back in 1998.

That's good news for anyone who shops in Broken Arrow, because that temporary half-penny sales tax is over. Broken Arrow voters passed the tax to pay for $16-million in seed money for the NSU-BA campus.

The city paid it off early, though and saved about a million dollars.
