OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- A man being sought by fire investigators for a 2003 arson blaze surrendered to authorities Tuesday night after a standoff.
Ricky Jo Wayne Kilmer turned himself in to police after holding them at bay for several hours.
Fire Major Brian Stanaland says the standoff began after fire investigators tried to serve an arrest warrant on Kilmer for athe December 3rd, 2003, fire at the Whitby Court Apartments.
Investigators said the blaze happened during the manufacture of methamphetamine.
Stanaland says Kilmer was initially arrested a few days after the fire, but subsequently failed to make a court appearance on charges of first-degree arson charge and manufacturing methamphetamine.
Officers evacuated nearby residences.
There were no reports of injuries.
