OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- An audit from the state auditor and inspector's office says an appeals court judge filed about 3-thousand dollars in questionable travel and office expenditures.

The audit which covered an 18-month period that ended December 31st, focused on state claims filed by Court of Criminal Appeal Judge Stephen Lile.

In an order filed today, Lile notified the court that he would not be participating in cases before the court.

State Auditor and Inspector Jeff McMahan says the claims filed by Lile are questionable and amount to a misuse of taxpayer dollars.

Lile has reimbursed the state $1,560 for purchases, including many office decor items, and $1,523 for travel.

The audit identified other problems, involving such things as leave policy and time records.
