Several Tulsa businesses help Tulsa Public Schools replace stolen flagpoles. Someone cut down the poles at Jackson and Patrick Henry Elementary schools earlier this month apparently to sell as scrap metal.
Friday, thanks to those businesses, a new pole was installed at Patrick Henry Elementary School. School patron at the ceremony: "To see that flag, with the new shiny ball at the top, generated excitement throughout the school."
Each pole would've cost the district about $1,500.
