Tulsa County opened bids Friday morning for the next contract to run the Tulsa County jail.

The bids ranged from $43 per inmate per day - up to $51 a day. The current operator, CCA, bid against two other private companies and the Tulsa County Sheriffâ€™s office.

Among the bids that included all the costs of the jail, the sheriff's office was the lowest bidder, but the Tulsa County commissioners aren't required to go with lowest - just the lowest and most qualified.
