Tulsa County opened bids Friday morning for the next contract to run the Tulsa County jail.
The bids ranged from $43 per inmate per day - up to $51 a day. The current operator, CCA, bid against two other private companies and the Tulsa County Sheriff’s office.
Among the bids that included all the costs of the jail, the sheriff's office was the lowest bidder, but the Tulsa County commissioners aren't required to go with lowest - just the lowest and most qualified.
