OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- A $500-million bond proposal for state colleges and universities is now heading to the state Senate for a vote.
The bill passed out of the Senate Appropriations Committee on a 46-to-0 vote Wednesday morning.
The proposal calls for the sale of $500-million in bonds to pay for capital improvement projects such as new classrooms, more lab space and renovations and repairs at colleges and universities across Oklahoma.
State Senator Mike Morgan says he expects the bill to be voted on in the Senate by early next week.
