An 8 year old Sand Springs girl, who was kidnapped two days ago, is back with her family. Alyssa Henderson was reunited with her father Thursday.
News on 6 reporter Heather Lewin says that Sand Springs Police credit an anonymous tip, which led them to a motel at 11th and Garnett, where a car pulled up around 10 AM Thursday to give Alyssa's biological mom, Tina Lambert a ride. Police followed and closed in.
They arrested Tina Lambert and quickly put Alyssa back into her father's arms. Brad Henderson says he's still in shock. "I don't know that I have any words for that, I'm just sitting here holding my daughter. We've got her, she's here she's safe."
Alyssa Henderson: "I feel happy."
Sand Springs Police say Alyssa told them she'd been thinking of how to get away, but didn't know where she was or where to run to for help.
Her mother was arrested at a nearby Quik Trip, moments before police say they were headed out of state.
Tina Lambert was booked into the Tulsa County jail on charges of felony child stealing and violating her probation.
Sand Springs Police also finally served her with a protective order the family had filed months ago to keep her away from Alyssa.
