Saint Francis broke ground on a new $56-million children's hospital Tuesday.

The 104-bed hospital will be attached to Saint Francis and is scheduled to be finished in the spring OF 2007. The children's hospital will be five stories, with enough space and amenities like showers, for families who want to stay overnight.

The new hospital will have room for 20 more patients than the children's hospital currently located inside Saint Francis.

The hospital will convert its old children's wing for adult use.
