About 12:45 AM Monday, emergency crews were called to a car fire on US Highway 75 just north of I-244.

The driver was traveling south on 75 when he smelled gasoline. He watched his gas gauge take a dive, and then the engine burst into flames.

The car was heavily damaged. The driver was not hurt.
