SWEETWATER, Okla. (AP) _ A 27-year-old Sayre man is dead after a his truck slid off the road and slammed into a tree in Beckham County.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says Jody Cade Millar was eastbound on a county road near Sweetwater last night when his 1994 G-M-C pickup truck ran off the roadway. The patrol says Millar overcorrected, went into a broadslide and struck a tree. The report says Millar was pinned against the tree for nearly two hours. He was pronounced dead at the scene from massive injuries.

The patrol says Millar was not wearing a seat belt.
