UNDATED (AP) _ A Fort Hood soldier from Oklahoma has died of injuries suffered in a traffic accident in Baghdad.

The Pentagon says 24-year-old Army Specialist Robert Hendrickson of Broken Bow died Tuesday at a Baghdad Army hospital.

A Fort Hood statement says Hendrickson was injured when his military vehicle struck a barrier and overturned.

Hendrickson was assigned to the Second Battalion, Fifth Cavalry Regiment, of Fort Hood's First Cavalry Division. He was born in Biloxi, Mississippi, but listed Broken Bow as his home town.

He had been assigned to Fort Hood since May 2002.

The Army says the matter remains under investigation.
