Two bills filed for the upcoming legislative session would legalize tattooing in Oklahoma. Right now, Oklahoma is the only state in the country, which bans tattooing.
Kim Soltis is renovating an old Git-n-Go store in Tulsa and turning it into a tattoo and piercing business. She's hopeful the legislature addresses the controversial issue. "We're hoping to really upgrade the idea of body piercing and tattooing. Bring it up from the standards and stereotypes that it tends to go with. Bring it more modern."
Both measures before the legislature would legalize tattooing for anyone over the age of 18.
One would require tattoo artists to be licensed by the state Department of Health.
