Tulsa's Community Action Project wants to help many Green Country residents file tax returns for free.
Tuesday, CAP launched its 2004 tax assistance program. The program provides free income tax preparation assistance for low-to-moderate income residents of eastern Oklahoma. To qualify, people must have a household income below $36,000.
Okmulgee County resident Angela Williams: "In year's past we've paid $250 to $575 to get our taxes done. We have long forms, wasn't comfortable doing it myself."
CAP relies mainly on volunteer tax preparers who undergo extensive training.
